Pickett’s objective was to assist a client in installing a new 68-mile 500kV transmission line from Corbett to Quarry substations in Florida.
Pickett provided initial Right of Way staking along the route for clearing, subsequent staking for the construction of access roads and pads for the structures. Pickett also provided as-built data of the route upon completion of the project.
Pickett utilized marsh master equipment, airboats and various land type vehicles through this unique land area in support of the different phases of construction staking. This staking was completed using a combination of Real Time Network (RTN) GPS and conventional surveying methodology. Structure staking sketches at each pole location along the route were prepared to ensure accuracy. At the end of the project, ground survey data was collected to ensure that all construction matched with the design specs.
